Privacy Policy

Fantasy Futbol ("we", "us", "our") operates the fantasy soccer platform at fantasy.futbol and the Fantasy Futbol mobile app. This policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information You Provide

Username (required at account creation)
Phone number (only if you sign up or log in via SMS)
Email address (optional, can be added from your profile)
Google account identifier (only if you sign in with Google)
Apple account identifier and, if Apple provides it, an email address (only if you sign in with Apple)

We do not store passwords. Authentication is handled via one-time SMS codes (OTP), Google sign-in, or Sign in with Apple.

Game Data

When you use Fantasy Futbol, we store the data you create through gameplay:

Team names, lineups, roster moves, and draft picks (Season-Long Leagues)
Daily contest lineups and scores (Daily Fantasy)
Squad selections, transfers, and captain choices (Classic Mode)

Automatically Collected Data

Our analytics, error-monitoring, and push-notification providers collect limited technical and usage data:

Browser or device type, operating system, app version, language, and time zone
Screen size and referral source
Pages viewed and feature interactions
Our internal user ID and service-generated analytics and push-subscription identifiers
Push-notification permission, delivery, and interaction information
Error reports, stack traces, and related diagnostic context
IP address and country information processed by OneSignal as part of providing push notifications. We disable Mixpanel's IP-based location lookup and do not request GPS access.
UTM campaign parameters (if you arrived via a marketing link)

2. How We Use Your Information

To operate the platform — authenticate your account, save your game data, display leaderboards and standings
To improve the product — understand which features are used, diagnose bugs, and prioritize development
To communicate with you — send SMS verification codes during login (no marketing texts)
To prevent abuse — rate-limit authentication attempts and detect suspicious activity

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising.

3. Third-Party Services

We share limited data with the following services that help us operate Fantasy Futbol:

Mixpanel	Product analytics	Internal user ID, page views, feature usage, and browser/device information. We do not send your username, phone number, or email address.
Sentry	Error monitoring	Internal user ID, error stack traces, and diagnostic context. We do not intentionally send your username, phone number, or email address.
OneSignal	Push notifications	Internal user ID, push token and subscription ID, device and app information, notification interactions, IP address, and country
Render	Hosting and data storage	Account and game data stored or processed by our application and database

Each service is governed by its own privacy policy: Twilio, Google, Apple, Mixpanel, Sentry, OneSignal, and Render.

We require these providers to protect data consistently with this policy and applicable law. We do not share personal data with advertising networks or data brokers.

4. Data We Do NOT Collect

Precise geolocation or GPS data
Advertising identifiers or hardware identifiers such as IDFA or IMEI
Contacts, photos, camera, or microphone access
Financial or payment information (Fantasy Futbol is currently free to play)
Browsing history outside of Fantasy Futbol

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Render (US-based infrastructure). We use encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit. Authentication tokens are stored locally on your device and transmitted via secure headers.

Temporary data such as rate-limit counters and session caches are stored in Redis and automatically expire.

6. Your Rights & Choices

View and update your information. You can view and edit your username and email from your profile page.

Delete your account. You can delete your account from the profile page in the app. Account deletion is permanent and proceeds in two stages:

Immediately, your account is deactivated. You are signed out and can no longer log in.
Within 14 days, your personal information (username, phone number, email address, and Google or Apple account identifier) is permanently removed from our systems. We also submit deletion requests for the account-linked data held by Mixpanel and OneSignal. Those providers may need additional processing time to finish an accepted request. If you signed in with Apple, your Apple ID is disconnected from Fantasy Futbol via Apple's token revocation endpoint.

League standings and contest results that other users participated in are retained in anonymized form so that their historical records remain intact. Once the 14-day purge has run, your account cannot be restored.

Request analytics deletion. Contact us at privacy@fantasy.futbol if you want us to submit a separate deletion request for your account-linked Mixpanel data.

Control push notifications. You can turn notification categories off in Fantasy Futbol or disable notifications in your device settings.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account and game data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we deactivate it immediately. We may retain anonymized or aggregated data (e.g., contest participation counts) that cannot identify you.

8. Children's Privacy

Fantasy Futbol is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of Fantasy Futbol after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
